The black truffle is also commonly known by the names of the prized Norcia truffle or Truffe du Périgord, in French.

It grows in hilly and mountainous environments in symbiosis with oak, English oak, and hazelnut trees: due to the action of the mycelium, the area where the truffle grows generally has very sparse vegetation, an element that makes it easier to identify.
Black truffle shows all its properties when cooked as its aroma slowly invades foods and is enhanced in terrines and parcels.
